JUNIOR ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGIST

The Electrical Department specializes in the design of Lighting, Power Distribution, Fire Alarm, Nurse Call, Communications and Security systems for commercial, healthcare, institutional, retail, multi-family and mixed-use high-rise projects. Currently, we are seeking a Junior Electrical Technologist for our Edmonton office as we continue to expand and grow. Your Key Responsibilities:
- Use AutoCAD to prepare 2D drawing sets.
- Use Revit to prepare 3D Building Information (BIM) models and export to 2D drawing sets.
- Use calculation software like AGi32 and ETAP to complete engineered designs for review.
- Visit project site to collect required information.
- Collect client and project information and prepare electrical designs in accordance with best practice design and relevant codes and standards.
- Coordinate electrical design with Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Civil and other project consultants under the direction of the project Engineer.
- Visit Construction site to complete construction reviews.
- Performs other duties as assigned by project engineers.
Compensation Range:
$50,000-$55,000
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
As the successful candidate, you will have experience in a variety of building-related projects. Qualifications include:

Education and Certification:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from NAIT or SAIT.
- Minimum 2 years of academic or working experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Design Experience with Lighting, Power Distribution, Fire Alarm, and Communications systems is an asset.
- Functional knowledge of the greater Edmonton area and familiarity with Edmonton’s local communities and built environment.
- Registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist with ASET is preferred, but not essential.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM (Revit).
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards in building electrical engineering and consulting.
- A basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts.
- Experience in AGi32 is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to deal effectively with other disciplines, and team members.
- Excellent written and verbal English communications skills.
